WhatsApp is introducing a new feature
24 March, 2025
WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that allows users to schedule and
manage events directly within one-on-one chats. Previously available only in
group chats and communities, this functionality is now being extended to
private messages. With this update, users can plan meetings, set reminders, and
coordinate personal commitments without needing a separate calendar
application. For instance, if you share a deadline with a colleague, you can
create an event in WhatsApp, and both parties will receive simultaneous
reminders. Additionally, events can be linked to video or voice calls, and
invitees have the option to accept or decline invitations. Currently, this
feature is available to some beta testers using the latest WhatsApp beta
version from the Google Play Store. As with many beta features, it may take
several weeks or months before it becomes available to all users.
