Samsung Wallet is expanding its availability in Europe.
Starting February 7, 2025, users in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg will have access to Samsung's digital wallet. This service allows users to store items such as ID cards, membership cards, boarding passes, and even car keys. For instance, boarding passes from KLM and Air France can be stored in the Wallet, along with Flying Blue Miles from affiliated airlines. The expansion coincides with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, which comes with One UI 7, a requirement for Samsung Wallet. Older devices like the S24 and earlier models will receive the update to One UI 7 in due course. Additionally, features like Samsung Pass, which stores passwords, will be integrated into the Wallet app. Samsung emphasizes the security of the Wallet, utilizing its Knox system for protection, including fingerprint scanning and encryption for sensitive data. Certain car models from manufacturers such as BMW, Mini, Volvo, Polestar, Audi, Kia, and Hyundai are compatible with Samsung Wallet's Digital Car Key feature. Supported devices include Galaxy S20 or newer models (including FE versions), Z Flip 5G or newer, Z Fold2 or newer, and the Galaxy Note20 series.
